E. Dawn McCaig - call her Dawn - was born and raised in the North Bay area, attending Nipissing University on a full scholarship and graduating with the President's Gold Medal. She then attended Osgoode Hall Law School, summering at what was then Canada's largest criminal defence firm, and volunteering with a pro bono family law organization. Her next step was returning home to article at the Crown's Office in North Bay, followed by working at a local law office for five years. She then completed her Masters of Law and opened her own practice. Dawn is happy to volunteer her time helping young lawyers and law students, acting as a mentor to new calls through Legal Aid's criminal law mentorship panel, as well as through Osgoode Hall's mentorship program. Dawn is an instructor at Nipissing University in the criminal justice program, and sits on the Alumni Advisory Board of that institution.
