Effective May 1, 2026, the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) is now directly delivering Outreach Services across the District of Nipissing to support individuals experiencing homelessness.

This updated service model is designed to:

  • Improve coordination of outreach services
  • Strengthen health integration
  • Continue collaboration with community partners
  • Better support individuals experiencing homelessness across the district

Outreach Services Mandate

Outreach Services are intended to engage and support individuals experiencing homelessness by meeting people where they are, both physically and in terms of their readiness for assistance.

The core focus of these services is to:

  • Build trust through proactive engagement
  • Assess individual needs
  • Connect people with essential resources such as:
    • Shelter
    • Food
    • Health care
    • Social supports
  • Reduce barriers to accessing services
  • Promote social inclusion
  • Support pathways to stable housing and improved well-being

These services are delivered while respecting the dignity, autonomy, and individual circumstances of each person served.
