Inspired by the band, the man, the machine - THE HiP MACHINE brings you the music of The Tragically Hip the way it was meant to be heard — live. Darryl Aspin of Hitcher fame made his mark captivating audiences across the Durham Region with his strong vocal ability and high-energy performances. Behind Darryl is a band of talented musicians, including guitarist Mike Rewegen, drummer Seth McNamara, bassist Stephen Reid, and on lead guitar, Mike Marinuk. After six years as a founding member of another Ontario Hip tribute — he now showcases his abilities as our 'Robbie', with performances mirroring the albums and live HiP recordings.
For many, The Tragically Hip was the ultimate live band — their music carried an energy and presence that could only be felt in person. Our goal is to bring that feeling back, at every show. Over the past few years, THE HiP MACHINE has steadily made a name for themselves as a force in the live tribute scene — earning attention for their musicianship, authenticity, and an energetic show capturing the excitement of the real thing.
