Board of Management

About the DIA

Downtown North Bay & Waterfront, also known as the Downtown Improvement Area (DIA), was created by the City of North Bay in 1978. The organization is a local service board of the municipality and follows the legislation for Business Improvement Areas set out in the Municipal Act.

The DIA is governed by a Board of Management made up of:

  • 7 elected directors who are DIA members
  • 2 municipal councillors
  • 1 alternate

The Board is elected every four years in conjunction with the municipal election.

The DIA has one employee, the Executive Director, who manages the day-to-day operations of the organization.

The DIA’s budget comes from a special tax levy applied to properties within the DIA boundaries.
